FISHING
Lake Alfred has the best fishing around in Polk County. We have a number of lakes that are loaded with bass. The main one is Lake Rochelle located on Lake Shore Way. All lakes in the city have docks for your fishing pleasure.
TRAILS
The Memorial Trail is approximately 2 miles and is connected to the Winter Haven trail. The trails are all connectd to the main trail which is the Van Fleet Trail. That trail will eventually have connections throughout all of Polk County.

HISTORIC SITES
Two historic houses in Lake Alfred are the Gardner House and the Mackay House. Currently the Mackay is open for weddings and special events. Check with the Parks and Recreation Department for further information. The Gardner House is currently under renovation and will be open as a museum and event venue sometime in 2024.
PARKS
We are the home of 10 beautiful parks. Each is individual in size and appearance. Lions Park offers a playground and newly built deck along with a new dock. Gardner Park is the home of the Veterans Memorial and also commemorates one of the major founders of Lake Alfred. Central Park is undergoing a major addition of basketball and football fields.
MONUMENTS
Lake Alfred is a proud city respecting all branches of military services. In 2012 we opened the Veterans memorial at Gardner Park. There are monuments for each of the wars and all branches of service. The Iwo Jima monument which is the main one is a replica of the original one. On the back are black marble plaques honoring many former Lake Alfred veterans. There is much to see so make it a point to get there.
ANTIQUING
You'll love visiting Biggars Antiques right in downtown Lake Alfred. If you want to go out of town a bit you can go to the Barn and Stable on CR 557 N. They also have the Back Porch restaurant.
